Staying Safe Online

Relying online services need lots of trust. Trust that you could muster from the people who put entry in their blog, sites or others.

I am a victim of spammers. Experiencing the worst collaboration of people online, makes my file totally disappeared. Now, I ended up regretting. As a result, I've made new account to store my personal files and others.

That is why, I would like to share this SMART tips for everyone to stay safe online.

Safe. Keep safe. Don't give out personal information, such as email addresses or telephone numbers.

Meet. Don't meet anyone you've met online in person without telling your parents about it, gaining their permission and going with them.

Accept. Don't open anything from people you don't know or don't trust because they could contain viruses, as well as other nasty things.

Reliable. Somebody online might be lying about who they are, and not all the information you find on the Internet is reliable. Make sure everything you do comes form a reliable source.

Tell. If you're worried about something, if you think you've figured out who is bullying you, or you don't trust someone you've met online, tell your parent or a trusted adult.

In order for you not to experience the regrettable experience I have had, you should be SMART always.

Media Center won't play video.

I recently bought a Dell Inspiron 530 running Windows Vista Home Premium and have used it to record TV using Media Center and a TV tuner. Everything worked fine until recently. Now the electronic programming guide (EPG) crashes when I try to load it and I can't play back recorded TV, as it crashes and display video are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart Windows media Center of restart the computer."

I'm sure this problem started after Windows Vista download an update. I've had no luck getting Dell to help me fix the problem, and its solution of downloading the K-Lite Codec Pack failed to cure it. I don't want to reinstall Windows from scratch.

Stila: All Doll'd Up

How to get it:

Using the lower left pan of the Barbie Loves Stila eyeshadow kit, brush the light blue gray shade into the crease. Dip a liner brush into the navy shade and smudge into upper and lower lash lines. For instant glamour, finish with Stila's Stay All Day waterproof liquid eyeliner (the easiest-to-draw-on liner I've ever used), and kick it up at the outer corners for a cat's-eye effect. On lips, apply a liberal coat of Barbie Loves Stila lip glaze in Sugar Lips.

Wish List:
Barbie Loves Stila eyeshadow kit - If you love Barbie, you'll die for this palette, which contains 12 doll-pretty hues that have already been color-coordinated in four pans for you. All boast Stila's professional-quality pigments and feather-light texture, encased in a hot-pink compact with Barbie's holographic image on the lid. Flip it up to open and she winks at you.

Barbie Loves Stila lip enamel trio

With names like Joy (red), Happiness (light pink) and Tickled Pink (the bright pink exclusive to Barbie); the addition of rhodolea rosea (an ingredient that improves one's mood and helps alleviate depression); and cute stiletto charms dangling from the caps, these richly pigmented, mega-watt glosses are literally happiness in a tube.

Barbie Loves Stila Smudge Pots

These multi-taskers aren't just gel eyeliners, they can also be used as longwearing eyeshadows that won't flake off. There's classic black, of course, but try the other, of-the-moment shades - electric blue and purple - all closed with shimmer and designed to make your whites look whiter and dark eyes look brighter.

French bears suffering from lack of females.

The population of brown bears in France is now so small that the species might become extinct in the near future, according to a study, but introducing new females to the region could help reverse the decline.

The research, published in online journal PLos ONE, suggests the bear population is suffering from having a greater number of males and that adding females would not just boost its numbers but help tackle some of the reasons behind the decline.

"Our results suggest that having a viable bear population in France requires further translocations. In particular, male bears need more females," said Guillaume Chapron of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, who led the study.

The brown bear population in France disappeared from most of the country during the 20th century and now survives only in two separate communities in the Pyreness mountain range.

Nobel-winning Russian physicist dies at 93.

Vitaly Ginzburg, a Nobel Prize-winning Russian physicist and one of the fathers of the Soviet hydrogen bomb, has died in Moscow. He was 93.

Ginzburg died late Sunday (Novemember 8) of caridac arrest, the Russian Academy of Sciences said Monday.

Ginzburg won the 2003 Nobel Prize in physics with two other scientists for their contribution to theories on superconductivity, the ability of some materials to conduct electricity without resistance.

In the late 1940s and early 1950s, Ginzburg was a key member of the group working under Igor Tamm that developed the Soviet hydrogen bomb.

Ginzburg wrote that he and Anrei Sakharov - considered the father of the Soviet H-bomb - formulated the two ideas that made it possible to build the thermonuclear device.

In a career that spanned seven decades. Ginzburg authored several groundbreaking studies in various fields - such as quantum theory, astrophysics, radio-astronomy and diffusion of cosmic radiation in the Earth's atmosphere - that were of "Nobel Prize caliber," said Gennady Mesyats, the director of the Lebedev Physics Institute in Moscow, where Ginzburg worked.

"I can hardly list all the fields of physics to which he contributed," Mesyats said in televised comments Monday.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev praised Ginzburg as a "top physicist of our time whose discoveries had a huge impact on the development of national and world science" in a letter of condolences released by the Kremlin.

Additional SM Mall in Megamall

SM Megamall has grown so much more with the addition of the Mega Atrium, an exciting new lifestyle in the Ortigas Center.

This niche mall within the iconic SM Megamall is located over Julia Vargas Avenue, and fully bridges the gap between Mega A and B. It has a space of 16,000 sqm and has four levels.

With Megamall being a linear development that spans more than half a kilometer, the Mega Atrium is envisioned to be a center of respite and relaxation. Its strategic central location provides a convenient stop for mall visitors to relax and literally catch their breath while enjoying dining at specialty restaurants.

Upscale retail shops and restaurants are planned around a circular atrium with an area of 452 sqm. Access to the center is to offer an air of drama and surprise. Off the existing bridgeway, the visitor approaches the center through a low ceiling hallway that widens towards a cylindrical skylight.

Dynamic non-concentric circles on the floor are achieved with the application of yellow tiles of varied hues. An equally dynamic skylight design matches the non-concentric circles on the floor. The curved patterns ripple out beyond the atrium area on both floors and ceiling to great consistency and harmony to the general look of the center.

The fifth level of the Mega Atrium is the new site of the 1,700 sqm Chapel of the Eucharistic Lord. Designed by Architect Gervacio "Joey" Amistoso, the grand chapel has a modern architectural concept with the Eucharist as the focal point in the retablo or altar with the crucified Christ in the middle. The retablo is neo-classical design, which contrasts with the modern theme of the rest of the chapel.

The color scheme of the area is earth inspired using neutrals like beige and brown. Finishes are similar to those stones of used during the Romans times. which gives the chapel a structurally sound impression but in a soft and warm approach.

The Mega Atrium is an exciting addtion to the 330,000 sqm SM Megamall, one of the world's largest malls. Megamall, which opened in 1991, is said of have spearheaded what is termed in mailing phenomenon with its size, world class designs, and new concepts including the Artwalk and Art center and Megatrade Hall. The Atrium adds an upscale vibe to the mall.

The Mega Atrium design team includes Arquitectonica, mall designer, W.V. Coscolluela and Associates, architects; Monolith Construction and Development Corp., general contractor; and DA Abcede and Associates project manager.
