There are two profound choices in life: to accept things as they exist or to accept the responsibility for changing them. We control our own environment in accord with our number of decisions to accept change to meet our needs. The moment we recognize a situation, in need of improvement we are faced with choosing to live with that shortcoming or to accept the task of improving it.
One method to encourage acceptance, therefore, is to constantly remind yourself of "Who is in charge" of your life and to realize that freedom and self-control only accrue to those who accept the responsibility to change their lives in terms of their conscious intentions for improvement.
