I always make sure that I could say my "Thanks" to everyone especially on Christmas time.

Yesterday, I made a letter for my friend who I thank her for sharing me how it is to live, making my dreams do come true. I will not forget what she shares to me. She help me with my education. I know that it is not easy to pay all those fees in school, but her spirit helps me in ways that I do appreciate them all.

All my life, I longed for taking the kind of course in college that I really wanted, being a Nursing student. And so, with the kind of help that my friend shares to me, I am able to be in school.

She works as an accountant and she has a family. Seeing that kind of sacrifice of helping me gladdens my heart in ways that as soon as I will finish my schooling and as soon as I land a job, I will surely help her in return. I always think of that.

I have realized that it is not easy to send me to school while she has also her family to attend to. I could not imagine how she does all of it. But with great love, thanks that she carried me helping in paying for my school fees. I will never waste any dollar that she has helped me. I do my part to study and make the most out of schooling.

Now, I always thank her. I have already sent the letter. I do hope that she will not get tired of helping me.

What a terrible storm..."Sandy"

"Sandy", of course, no one expects her to ruin many lives.

It was a very tragic experience to all of us here in the US, even though that I am far away from New York and its neighboring places in which "Sandy" strikes so really hard.

I am feeling the hurt of the lost lives, the sad and tearful faces, the shattered hopes and the wandering minds in the midst of the disaster. Calamity such as this is tremendously a big cry. I felt their lost and I hope that everything will turn out to be fine finally soon.

Chocolate cake so sweet!

This is one of my favorite chocolate cake.

 I really love to eat this kind of chocolate cake because it is so creamy like really having a bunch of the chocolatiest choco ever!

Every occasion at home, in the office and in school, I make it sure that I have the cake to serve in the table because I do want that in every special event, I have my favorite dessert to be served.

This is also the kind of cake that gets through my stomach, feeling its smooth-like taste like a sponge and the taste is so invigoratingly perfectly wow!

The Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida, USA

 

 NASCAR which stands for National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing is indeed the most popular sport in the US. In fact, it was Bill France's idea of forming such an association who initiate everything on car racing and its place of the event. He opened the Daytona International Speedway in 1959 on a 480-acre property at the southern end of the beach.

Moreover, Daytona hosts different races and motorsports also is one of those competitions held here. There is what they call the Bike Week. It is a ten-day festival of road racing, dirt track racing, supercross, road rallies, demo rides, auctions, exhibitions and bike shows.

Who is Sister Callista Roy?

Sister Callista Roy introduced the Adaptation Model that simply emphasizes that the changing environment stimulates the person to make adaptive responses that for us, human beings, life is never the same. Life constantly change and present new challenges and that the person has the ability to make new responses to these changing conditions. As the environment changes, the person has the opportunity to continue to grow, to develop and to enhance the meaning of life for everyone.

Sister Callista Roy is a prominent nurse theorist, writer, lecturer, researcher and teacher. She is a professor and Nurse Theorist at the Boston College of Nursing in Chestnut Hill. She was born in Los Angeles on October 14, 1939 as the 2nd child of Mr. and Mrs. Fabien Roy. She entered the Sisters of Saint Joseph Carondelet. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with major in Nursing form Mount St. Mary's College in Los Angeles in 1963. She earned her Master's Degree in Pediatric Nursing from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1966. She also earned a Masters Degree and PhD in Sociology in 1973 and 1977 respectively. She had significant opportunity of working with Dorothy E. Johnson. Johnson's work with focusing knowledge for the discipline of nursing convinced Sr. Callista Roy of the importance of describing the nature of nursing as a service to society and prompted her to begin developing her model with the goal of nursing being to promote adaptation. She joined the faculty of Mount St. Mary's College in 1966, teaching both pediatric and maternity nursing. She organized course content according to a view of person and family as adaptive systems. She introduced her ideas about "Adaptation Nursing" as the basis for an integral nursing curriculum. The goal of nursing is to direct education, practice and research. His model is the basis of curriculum impetus for growth at Mount St. Mary's College. In 1970, her model was implemented in the school and in 1971, she was made the chair of the Nursing Department at the College as well.

Bible Reflection on Sirah 1:11-13

This great message from God touches me at all times. His great promise simply delivers true happiness that if we totally submit ourselves to Him.

I have been struggling right now about the word, "love". It is because I struggle still this time. ALong the way of my coping, I never felt to really ask from God and pray. I was totality swimming at my own thinking that I will be fine, that I will get over it.

Because of the deep ending of a happy relationship (supposedly for me), I never thought that those smiles, togetherness and love will soon be kept into a proposal, but it was not. I was just like daydreaming. Our separation went extremely hurtful especially on my part.

Before, I never feel to get closer to God because I was totally happy with my boyfriend (now my ex). All I cherish and love to do went not caring and minding about the world but simply me and him only and nothing else. I felt the ultimate happiness ever before as I am with him. But all drastically change. We ended up not us but I was all alone, lonely, hurt, crying and in pain.

At this point, the transition of my lfie went on as I come to open up the Bible and read about God's words. Now, I feel the happiness of learning new things from the Bible and gaining myself back again, piece by piece, little by little until I can fully say that I am totally healed.

To love God is more than my life. It is everlasting. It speaks the inner me and what is really life. I never same into a point to have felt loss. I even was not expecting of it because I thought what we have is forever. I thought I will be forever happy. But as life transcend, there is the turning point in me to feel lose and gaining myself again.

I felt lots of pains and even countless ones, but never do I surrender to struggle to survive. Life must go on.

Based on my own personal view, here is my answer:

Existence has something to do with purpose. I exist with a purpose. My life is with a purpose. Essence has something to do of my worth. It boils down to how I can be worthy in this world to make my existence purposeful. That is why, essence always views down to biological, academics, laws, traditions, norms and rules. For a person to be essential needs to be academically sustained, biologically eat, drink, sleep, rest, etc. and to follow rules and regulations by the laws or norms where one belongs, that defines the worth in him. One can't break a law for him to be called a law-breaker. For a person to be worthy, to eb essential is to live accordingly by following the laws of the land which serves his purpose. But all these, he is with much existence of either way he will choose to do them or not.

Adele is Pregnant!

I always love to hear news from my all-time favorite singer, Adele. And the latest that I heard from her is that she is now pregnant to boyfriend Simon Konecki. That is indeed a great news from her.

This young singer is tremendously gifted with super extraordinary talent in the field of singing. She can play musical instrument and her voice is so perfect in any way of her singing. The breakup her and her ex-boyfriend made her more to be an inspiring singer to all of the people because of the emotions of her songs that she has put into her music. Her album "21" speaks of the real emotions she had ever experience from that hurtful breakup. But now, she is in her great bliss because her boyfriend Simon Konecki is the person who does really love her now. In fact, they are expecting a baby now.

I am happy for Adele that she is now happier and ever the happiest person in the world. I know for sure that Adele is a great mother to her baby then. I love hearing good news from Adele. In some points of our life, there are these things that we seem to ask, but there is no explaining, then move on.

I am always in the verge of asking things and wanting but it is just in that point, I guess. There is no use for me to utter much deeper words which in fact, I can't tell that more when the one I used to know is like "if you only knew..." and so on.

Just like a winding road, there are lots of challenges that gets into it until one reaches its point to where it used to be. I am like a wanderer and a dreamer always aspiring for things, for someone that only the soul can feel. But still, I pause for so much words and moments, and say, "I can no longer proceed to more because I used to get that hurt from deep inside."

It is the pain and the worries that kings in me, but not all the time. I want to proceed in life and I really do it now and in many ways. But still, I am imprisoned with many things that tighten my clutch to move forward. If only words can tell exactly how I feel, I am in freedom telling what is really that I like and for you to know. But that can only be.

There are so many words left unspoken. I just let the wind transport that things in your heart. Keeping for secret is what my armor and that can only be for now and I hope that I can be totally happy.

If only you just knew...

The summer classes is about to end, but this heart of mine is not stopping from falling in love of a guy who in the first moment that I saw him, there is this kind of unexplained feeling that I overwhelmingly feel for him. And that if he just only knew...

I thought that I could not fall in love again after a heartbreak for almost 2 years now. He is actually a classmate in one of the subject that I took up this summer.

It is a kind of weird feeling that from the very first time that I saw him, my heart never stops beating "in-love" with him. He is just so humorous and extraordinary from the rest. It comes from the very fact that there is a sort of similarity that he has with my ex-boyfriend. That is why, everytime I look at him, his actions and ways reminds me of my past "love".

I feel so excited to go to school especially when it is Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. That days are our class' meet.

It is unplanned but we are of the same group. There was once a group activity that we had and all of us take charge of doing something for the accomplishment of our assigned task. He is the anchor man and I am the field reporter. But I make the script of our newscast presentation.

There was a moment when he requested me to comment on his performance before the final presentation, that moment when we were having our practice, only the two of us. But I just kept myself silent and mutual as if there is nothing so pounding in my heart that fastly beats. There, I come to have a crush on him more.

We both have the chance of communication which we don't do it usually in the classroom. But I know that I should not expect more because I know that he has already a girlfriend. That constant texting probably mean that his girlfriend keeps on texting him in the class.

I never took tight feeling of love because I know that if I let myself feel totally in-love with him (though it is just secret), I know that I will be hurt because this feeling I have felt is really "love", I guess.

I hope that we can see each other again in the huge campus. I hope that we can be classmates again. If he just only knew how much I like him. But I guess this is just a time of my life that will just pass by.

I was feeling sad that our class for the Health Education just end this afternoon. I don't know if I can see him again in the open-wide campus. I just hope that he is okay and well.

How to get the Speed?

In Physics, it deals more on the objects at rest or in motion. But when we want to know the way objects move by getting its speed, the formula is:

speed = distance traveled/time  (/ sign is division operation)

Speed is the distance traveled divided by time taken. Remember that speed is a scalar which has no direction. The car's speedometer measures how fast the car is moving but it does not give its direction. Whether the car is going in a circle or along a straight line, it makes no difference.

Let us take this sample problem:

Lisa too her to travel at 3.0 h of a distance of 120 km/h to reach her grandmother's house. What is the average speed?

speed = 120 km/3.0 h = 40 km/h

The result doesn't necessarily mean that Lisa's car was  moving at this speed. It simply indicates that she sometimes went faster and sometimes slower than this.

My sister is probably getting irritated me doing the replays of the song, but I don't care because the song is so touching and it affects me in many ways. First Aid: Dressing and Bandaging

When situations that calls for immediate care and help, initially giving First Aid is demandingly needed. And when it comes to dressing and bandaging closed or open wounds, the best care is to that you should use a dressing that is large enough to extend at least 1 inch beyond the edges of the wound. If body tissue or organs are exposed, you should cover the wound with a dressing that will not stick, such as plastic wrap or moistened gauze. You should secure the dressing with a bandage or adhesive tapes.  If the bandage is over a joint, splint and make a bulky dressing so the joint remains immobilized. If there is no movement of a wound over the joint, you should beat to give improved healing and to reduce scarring. On the other hand, if a bandage should fit snugly but should not cut off circulation or cause the victim discomfort. If the area beyond the wound changes color, begins the tingle or feel cold, or if the wound starts to swell the bandage is too tight and should be loosened.

Remember that bandaging techniques mainly depend on the size and location of the wound, your first aid skills and of course, the materials at hand.

Giving first aid is applied when the situations call for it but if the wound is deeply serious, then seek the help of a dermatologist or a doctor for the patient’s security.

Bathing the Newborn Baby

Being a mother, I have many things to share to you about my growth with me and my baby. My David now is 1 year old and in his growing stage of development, I have learned many things which I want to share to you. I will share you how to bathe a newborn baby. This is the way too that I share to my baby David.

Daily bath is desirable if your baby’s condition allows it. First, you need to gather all the equipments before starting to take him to a bath. You need to have large basin or two small basins, mild baby soap, mild baby shampoo (but it is optional), clean cotton balls, soft wash cloth or face towel, bath towel or small cotton blanket and rubber sheet.

You should water in the basin and it should be about 37.7 degree Celsius or 100 degree Fahrenheit. Undress the baby and wash his face with clear water using either the cotton balls or wash cloth. You should wash eyes (closed) and ears.

The baby’s scalp or head may be washed next. You should pick up the baby by sliding your hand under him, grasping his head firmly as you hold it over the basin. Then soap the baby’s body all over by putting him in the basin while still supporting his head and the shoulders. If the baby is enjoying his experience, let him stay in the water for a few minutes. After he is finished, lift him out. Wrap him in a towel or blanket and pat him dry.

After the bath, the labia in baby girls should be cleansed with cotton and clean water. The umbilical cord may be cleaned with 70% alcohol which has  a drying effect and promotes an antiseptic effect. If infection is observed like redness, mal odor, moisture or discharge, the physician must be informed.

Don’t and Doesn’t in English

Learning English is like learning its basics. The use of don’t and doesn’t are part of the basic.

The word does and the contraction doesn’t are used with singular nouns and with the pronouns he, she and it. The word do and the contraction don’t are used with plural nouns and with the pronouns I, we, you and they.

Examples: 

Doesn’t

The law doesn’t decide on the case. (The law refers to it. It is a singular noun.)

He doesn’t want to go with his friends.

It doesn’t work.

She doesn’t need to do it.

Don’t

The laws don’t want him to win the case.

They don’t like him.

You don’t understand my point.

We don’t need to hurt each other.

The Differences of Lie, Lay, Sit and Set

Lie, Lay, Sit and Set are what we call troublesome verbs. In order to use properly these words in our daily conversation or in making compositions, it is important to learn the meaning of those words.

Lie means to recline or rest (lying). Sit is to occupy a seat (sitting). Lay is to put down or place (Laying). Set is to place (Setting). Lie and sit are generally used to show position. They do not take objects.

Example: Aunt Maye lies in bed all morning, but she sits on the hospital terrace in the afternoon.

Lay and set usually show a person at work. When you use these verbs, you must name the thing that is laid and set.

Example: Before Riane set the cup of coffee at Moms’ place, she laid the morning paper on his plate.

Don’t be confused. The past tense of lie is the same as the present tense of lay. (In the sequence as Present, Past and Past Participle respectively written as…)

Who is Aphrodite?

In Greek Mythology, Aphrodite is represented as sex, affection and attraction that binds people together. She is the goddess of love, desire and beauty. She is temptous because of her magical girdle that compels anyone she wishes to desire her.

My side:

Aphrodite is enticing. She is having a character of endearing. She is representation of obsession of lusts because she has the power to ignite men in based on her wants and desires. In her, the satisfaction is extreme that she wants more to please, to give the ultimate desire through pleasures. That is how I view her. She is addiction for men.

In the world, there are numerous Aphrodite. Probably, they can’t control the piece of dissatisfaction in themselves that resulted to ask for more. She wears the lust of pleasures. That is why, she is tempting.

Pleasures can be controlled by her, but because many choose to experience the lust of attaining it, there comes the sins. For me, Aphrodite is the bearer of sins. She is temptous. She knows how to get a person to satisfy her lustfulness. She is sinful. In her, she carried the dirt of sinfulness.

Persons are we have the desire to extremely want what we need. But there is what we so-called choice. To tempt, to be tempted or to be the object of temptation is a matter of wants and choice. If persons want to be treated like an animal (lowest form of creature), then that is his choice which he pays for it. The only importance in this life is to seek the will and make certain the choices one makes. Of course, many of us are not perfect but we have the sole decision in us. We have the power to decide. We have the capacity to say “No!” We have the right to neglect a malicious offer. We have the right to live a lustful-free live. But if your purpose is to satisfy your bodily thirst, then your soul and spirit will die in darkness.
