Definition-stage: Essence-finding

Essence-finding pertains to finding the important components of the overall problem context...developing an attitude or taking a stand. Finding direction in the problem-solving process and drawing concluding from the facts.

Understanding the facts and their interrelations makes it possible to formulate a concept. When the important aspects or interrelationships are clear. It became those essences that form the basis for further options, decisions and actions. This is a converging stage. A time for narrowing lots of information down to a few "essential" guidelines.
