Who is Aphrodite?

In Greek Mythology, Aphrodite is represented as sex, affection and attraction that binds people together. She is the goddess of love, desire and beauty. She is temptous because of her magical girdle that compels anyone she wishes to desire her.

My side:

Aphrodite is enticing. She is having a character of endearing. She is representation of obsession of lusts because she has the power to ignite men in based on her wants and desires. In her, the satisfaction is extreme that she wants more to please, to give the ultimate desire through pleasures. That is how I view her. She is addiction for men.

In the world, there are numerous Aphrodite. Probably, they can’t control the piece of dissatisfaction in themselves that resulted to ask for more. She wears the lust of pleasures. That is why, she is tempting.

Pleasures can be controlled by her, but because many choose to experience the lust of attaining it, there comes the sins. For me, Aphrodite is the bearer of sins. She is temptous. She knows how to get a person to satisfy her lustfulness. She is sinful. In her, she carried the dirt of sinfulness.

Persons are we have the desire to extremely want what we need. But there is what we so-called choice. To tempt, to be tempted or to be the object of temptation is a matter of wants and choice. If persons want to be treated like an animal (lowest form of creature), then that is his choice which he pays for it. The only importance in this life is to seek the will and make certain the choices one makes. Of course, many of us are not perfect but we have the sole decision in us. We have the power to decide. We have the capacity to say “No!” We have the right to neglect a malicious offer. We have the right to live a lustful-free live. But if your purpose is to satisfy your bodily thirst, then your soul and spirit will die in darkness.

Hurt

There are many kinds of hurts, the kind of hurt because of sickness, the kind of hurt out from sacrificing and laying life for others, the kind of hurt that comes from losing a friend or family. But the kind of hurt that I want to emphasize here is the hurt from a broken relationship, from a shattered heart, which a lot of us, I guess, have gone through experiencing the bitter sweet, hurt.

In what way and in how many times have you been hurt? For how long have you sacrificed the pain of hurting from a broken heart? For how long have you been pretending that you are okay but the fact is, you are definitely slowly dying because of hurt? Are you willing to give your heart another chance to love again? Are you willing to give another person a chance to love you? Are you willing to still give 100% trust after being hurt by someone? Until when are you going to let go?

Many of us experience the hurt out from loving someone. Others gone through many tests, others too, fight for their love, but love does not meant to be for them and some, just gone in nowhere. No news at all.

In which category do you belong? How tragic that love has its sad ending. I prefer to choose always the sweet beginning that will lead to sweet everlasting love. Maybe for some, they have experienced the sweet love of lifetime. But for many, lost and lose.

Indeed, love is hurt. You can’t trust growing happily together unless you both work hard to keep your relationship until death. That is what we call true love. And it never dies. It doesn’t fade. It will never lose. But there you go again, hurt. That is part of love. When hurt manifest in a relationship, after more trys and acceptance, I think, it is the end.

Being hurt and losing someone, the statement that says: “They will not end up together. How come? They are already 8 years in a relationship.” The 8 years of being together is not a guarantee that they will end up together. Probably, it is true that the longer the relationship, it breaks; the shorter, it grows.

After how many years now of healing and getting over the mess relationship that I thought we are really for each other, that I thought only death could separate us, it ended there. I have to move on and in moving on, it is a lot harder to cope with, until I get over this.

I thank that:

Hurt leads me to be more stronger. I am determined to live life the way I view it now. I am now careful in every decision that I make. I am not the girl anymore who is considerate. I am not weak now. I am intelligent to evaluate life. I am not afraid to try. I am not afraid to lose again. I am totally renewed from the bitterness that I have felt because of hurt out of love. I am refreshed and brave to move on.

Hurt gives me back my self. Hurt gives me the chance to love life, to respect nature and to do more in this world. I gained back the real me which is, the happy, kind, caring, humble and down-to-earth me. I am forming back the trust of myself that was lost. I gain respect to myself. I take pride to love the things which I haven’t savor its importance before, in those times that I was blinded with extreme love. I have realized that I should reserve something for myself.

Hurt doesn’t teach me to hurt and take revenge. It was total acceptance that teaches me to be calm and just let it all go away. I learn to be silent. I don’t think of fighting back. I never plan of hurting him in return. I am just so tranquil to let all this flow and pass by until the pain subsides.

Hurt teaches me to forgive. I believe that it is in forgiveness that I can forget him totally. And that is what I do. I forgive him so I can go further go with my life. In forgiveness comes total acceptance which makes my heart okay and happy now.

Hurt opens me to reality. I was blinded of love before, now I am awaken to its reality that part of loving is to experience extreme pain. I just think that we are not really meant to be and that probably, there is someone who is the person God sets for me. I learn to appreciate the goodness of life because I learned many things after all those hurts.

Hurt makes me whole. I have realized that in order to be whole, one should go into the process of feeling the hurt. I think they are inseparable in life. Learning is about seeing in reality what life really is and as I have learned many things, as I take my life to drive the path that I am with now, this makes me whole. Because of deep hurt, the nonstop cries before, the silent realizations now, it defines me again that accepting life is like this, it is a process that needs to face. I learn to love myself more now.

Hurt determines me to do more in life, to be more good. I carry no grudges out from the broken relationship that I had before. I take it as part of life. That is why, because of the hurt, it pursues me to do more in life. That there are more to life than by being imprisoned of the memories in the past. I believe that there are more good things that will happen for me despite the pain and that is what I am experiencing now. I can say that I am happy and had enough.

Hurt opens me to help others. I learn to help other people. I took pity to those who are hurt in life and thus, I help them. I don’t want them to experience pain. Because of hurt, it helps me to extend my help to those who are needy. I learn to love my life and to give importance to the lives of other people. I learn to sacrifice for them.

Hurt teaches me how it is to be hurt. Because of this hurt, I learn now how it feels to lose and to be hurt. If it wasn’t coming into my life (pain of hurting), I surely can’t understand the feeling of how it is to be hurt. Now, I know more than its definition. Love is pain.

Hurt makes me a better person I become. I am more enthusiastic, more positive in life and more prayerful. Hurt really makes me the person I become now.

I give credit to the hurt I have felt because of the pain of losing a relationship. I did not regret the bitter experience I have because I learn to forgive and forget. I believe that all these happen for a big purpose. I can gradually see the formation of the purpose in me now that I have been in hurt because of pain.

That is why, in life especially in a relationship, it is not about hate. It is about risking one’s life, no matter how painful to sacrifice and understand that all things happen for a big purpose which we are then trying to discover as we travel in the path of life. Hurts and pains are always part of loving. We should learn when to hold on and when to let go. Accept and move on. Forgive and let go.

When I was young, I was exposed to numerous speeches which my English Teacher taught us in the class. I could not forget until now the famous speeches we are going to recite in the class every first Monday of the month in the school year. I was in my Middle School years then that I have an encounter with these famous speeches from well-known orators, speakers and writers that until now, their prominence are not being forgotten.

I had a taste of Shylock’s Justification and Brutus’ Speech in the Forum by William Shakespeare, The Four Freedoms by Franklin Roosevelt, The Gettysburg Address by Abraham Lincoln, Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death by Patrick Henry and Mark Anthony’s Famous Speech –Over the Body of Julius Caesar.

Speech: Shylock’s Justification and Brutus’ Speech in the Forum

These two speeches are popularized by William Shakespeare. He is the prominent writer, philosopher and artist of all times. William Shakespeare has been known in the world because of his love of art and his contribution in it especially in the world of Literature. His works are accepted and known worldwide.

Two of the famous speeches that I have already tried to deliver in the class are his Shylock’s Justification and Brutus’ Speech in the Forum.

I had an encounter of this speech when I was in my middle school years. My teacher in English made all of us in the class to memorize the said piece for our final speech delivery contest which made me won the 1st place. I never thought that I could deliver so well the piece, but my teachers said that I had made it very good.

Jessica Claire Biel: To be wed?


I have known this actress, singer and model when I saw the film entitled Stealth. She played a tremendous role that splash many avid fans and one of them is me. It was in that first discovery of her through that film that made me read more infos of this woman that enthusiastically made me know her. She is indeed a good actress of her time. 

She played the role of Mary Camden in 7th Heaven. It is a famous family-drama series here in the USA. Now, she is engaged to Justin Timberlake. 

 I think they are a perfect match of a couple. Justin is a very nice person and so is she. They both have chemistry. That is why, I am very much excited when the wedding will be. 

This singer, model, actress that I admired for her wit and beauty catches me more details of her life and I can’t wait for the big wedding event of this year.

Discipline

The dictionary defines discipline as “training that develops self-control, character or orderliness and efficiency.” It can be fun if those who are eager to derive some discipline and those who will obey can get in the spirit of the things.

Have you seen those flying aces doing their acrobatics? Or crack division marching in clock-like precision? Or a well-oiled basketball team executing a set play? Or the individual acrobatics expert holding a whole stadium in awe? That’s discipline at its best. It’s fun for everybody in the team, for the individual artists, too. The breakdown of that kind of discipline may mean personal disaster for the acrobat, the flying ace, or even the soldier who falls out of step.

Even the best basketball players who don’t have teamwork can lose to mediocre team of disciplined team players. The best armed troops won’t be worth watching if they can’t parade in precise marching order – they will awe but won’t excite any hurrahs.

Countries that have discipline need not be countries held under the heel of a tyrant or a conqueror. They are usually progressive countries able to pursue national objectives.

The country without discipline will perish. That’s why all government need a constitution, laws, rules and regulations, and guiding authority and national objectives to be pursued.

Discipline need to mean punishment for a wrong doing. It can mean togetherness in the achievement of a common purpose. It means a general atmosphere of wanting to obey orderly procedures, to follow the laws, and to do the do’s with a minimum of doing the do nots. If we feel into the act we could enjoy national discipline – and profit by it.

The Lake District, United Kingdom

Lake District National Park Visitor Centre. Kendal. Elterwater. Penrith. Hadrian's Wall. Bowness-on-Windermer. Wast Water. Scafell Pike. Keswick. Derwertwater. Dora's Field. Lake Windermere. Cumbria Way. Rydal Mount.

These wonderful places are United Kingdom's pride. The Lake District of Cumbria lies between the Scottish borders and Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire and Lancashire. Lake Windermer is the largest lake in England. The Bowness-on-Windermere caters for the huge number of visitors it receives. The Wast Water is the deepest lake. Scafell Pike are high peaks that indeed harder to reach than any of the others. 

Morover, Keswick is situated in the north of the Lake District, beside Derwentwater which is regarded as the center for walking and climbing. The Cumbria Way is 113 km or 70 mi trail. In Rydal Mount, the famous Wordsworth lives there for 37 years, and just below the house is Dora's Field named after his daughter which was planted with daffodils in her memory. 

All these and more are UK's beautiful places that stores lots of exciting adventure and fun for you and me.

Comprehension in Reading

The importance of reading comes form comprehension or understanding what one reads. Reading is void when a person doesn;'t have comprehension as he read and go through the meaning of every word or concept. 

Every time I read, I make it sure that I plant understanding from what I have read. It is a waste of time and effort to slip each moment every time I read without comprehensing the information I acquired out from reading. 

In order to build comprehension in reading, it is very essential to extract the meaning from the stated information in a given text through asking using the "whys" question and the use of "hows" as well. 

On the other hand, when "why" question can't be answered by facts directly stated, it is better to read between the line. In this way, formed concepts will be developed. 

Moreover, making judgements or conclusions add meaning to what one reads. This comes the formation of the lesson-learned or the evaluation of the characters or the author's style which lead the reader to form values and attitudes that the book invites. 
But reading alone doesn't end up there, in order to build higher rapport of comprehension, the most active manifestation out from reading is when the reader puts together what he has learned and use his knowledge in a related situation. This kind of application is the action gained out from what he learns in reading. 

The fact that reading is a process indeed guarantee people from all walks of life that it is transforming. Everyday we are faced with texts and information that need interpretation and application. Our minds have the power to transact reading businesses so with comprehending them.

Missing Someone (February 14, 2012)

Why in this time of February when 14th is nearly approaching, it drives me to miss someone, the person whom I love, but is now in the hands of someone else. 

February14, the Heart's Day, the Valentines Day. Now, the coming days passing through reminded me of the call of love, love, love. I hate it because I don't want to remember the love and its pain that I went through. 

The television program starts advertising love promos and getaways, newspapers views love venues and fun love stuff. Radio airs love atmosphere and love drives. FM stations play love songs, love series and love stories. I don't want to remember all those love thing. I just want to be isolated with those love stuff. I just want to skip 14th. I want that it will be discarded from the calendar. I don't want to feel its air. 

I hope that my 14th will be okay. I hope that someone will surprise me. I hope that someone will remember me. I hope that someone will send me messages. I hope someone will make me feel alright. 

It is so hard to be alone in this day, but accepting the bitter fact is the thing that I should face. There is now way out but to feel its existence. I hope that the Lord will make me feel okay.

Arrive in summer and enjoy an afternoon punting on the river, this will transport you to the land of extraordinary schedules, Oxford. 

The main highlights of the place are the colleges - Magdelen College, Balliol College and New College. Radcliffe Camera and Sheldonian Theatre can't be also outdone.  The Pitt Rivers Museum sparks with an incredible collection of tribal artifacts which is also the places' delight. Hundreds of restaurants, pubs, bars and night clubs are this place's exaggerations. Tourists are more enjoyable to stroll along this venue. Not to mention, classical music concerts are also a fad.

Stockholm, Sweden

When you go to Stockholm in Sweden, you will be amazed or even question yourself of its colorful buildings. Actually, the paints of red, yellow, grey and off white reflect how many generations those buildings have been erected. In fact, according to what I have learned about this place, those colors imply something. Seventeeth-century buildings are red, eighteenth century buildings are yellow, off white and grey buildings tend to be much more recent. All these colors make the city really attractive.
